Shrine Circus-goers who had tickets for canceled performances this weekend in Belleville can use those tickets at other Ainad Shrine performances this week and weekend.

The weekend circus shows were canceled after 2 inches of rain that turned the infield of Belle-Claire Speedway into a muddy morass.

While there will be no refunds, all previously purchased tickets for the performance in Belleville will be honored at circus performances set at other venues this week.

Denver Tolbert, chairman of the Ainad Shrine Circus, said popular attractions like the Circle of Death, where five motorcyclists ride inside a wheel that requires them to be directly upside down for split seconds of time, could not be safely erected in the mud.

The circus benefits the operations of the Shrine temple and is separate from fundraisers that support the Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis.

The remaining performances are:

Monday -- 7:30 p.m.-American Legion Park in Jerseyville.

Tuesday -- 7:30 p.m. - Wayne County Fairgrounds - Fairfield.

Wednesday -- 7:30 p.m. - Olney City Park - Olney

Thursday -- 7:30 p.m. - Marion County Fairgrounds - Salem.
