Here’s what’s closed due to road conditions from Monday’s winter storm

Schools, government buildings, even businesses and events announced closings and cancellations Monday due to the winter storm blanketing the St. Louis area with snow.

Here are the latest announcements:

Businesses

The holiday attractions Christkindlmarkt and Santa’s House in Belleville’s Public Square will not be open Monday, according to the city of Belleville. They will reopen on Tuesday.

Dierbergs announced that it would close all locations in Missouri and Illinois, including in Shiloh and Edwardsville, at 7 p.m. Monday because of the road conditions. Schnucks stores in the St. Louis metro area will close at 8 p.m.

Government

The St. Clair County Board postponed the meeting it had scheduled for Monday night until Wednesday, and County Board Chairman Mark Kern directed all county buildings, including the courthouse, to close at 12 p.m. Monroe County also closed its county buildings at noon. The Clinton County Courthouse closed at 2 p.m.

Madison County decided to close its courts and circuit clerk’s offices at 1:30 p.m. and its county buildings at 12:30 p.m. The city of Belleville closed its offices at 12:30 p.m., too.

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce moved its annual meeting from Monday to Thursday.

The village of Swansea rescheduled its Monday board meeting and tax levy hearing to Wednesday.

Schools

Monday was a snow day for students across the metro-east, from rural Red Bud District 132 to Belleville District 201.

Red Bud schools announced Monday afternoon that they would be closed Tuesday as well, along with several others.
