Santa closes shop early Monday due to snow showers on Belleville’s Christkindlemarkt

The city of Belleville has announced that the holiday attractions Christkindlmarkt and Santa’s House will not be open in the Public Square Monday because of the weather.

Christkindlmarkt, Belleville’s German Christmas market with vendors and food, will reopen 11 a.m. Tuesday. The last day for shopping will be Dec. 23.

Santa’s House will also reopen Tuesday and will be available to the public until Christmas Eve.

“We apologize for any inconvenience, but everyone’s safety is our main concern,” the city stated on its website.
