Missing man found dead in Caseyville, police say

A 30-year-old man reported missing in Caseyville has been found dead after a four-day search, police say.

Caseyville Police Chief Tom Coppotelli said officers found Marvin Parker’s body in the woods near the 200 block of Center Street on Saturday, the same area where he was last seen alive Tuesday night.

Parker had been living at a home on Center Street with a roommate for the last two months, Coppotelli told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He had previously lived in the Bland, Missouri, area.

A cause of death was not immediately available Saturday. The Caseyville Police Department and St. Clair County Coroner’s office are investigating.

The police department had asked for the public’s help finding Parker Thursday, after he was reported missing. Officers canvassed neighborhoods on Friday.

On Saturday, they returned to the wooded area where Parker was reportedly last seen and found him there in a ravine. He was pronounced dead at 1:33 p.m. at the scene by St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye.

Anyone with information about Parker’s disappearance can contact Caseyville Police Detective Danny Allison at 618-825-2681.
