Man dies in van crash in Randolph County
A 35-year-old Coulterville man died in a crash in Randolph County on Monday, the Illinois State Police said.
James A. Douglas II died in a single-vehicle crash on South Prairie Road just South of Ohlwine Road, according to a state police news release.
Douglas was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan south on South Prairie Road when the van left the roadway to the right, traveled behind the guardrail and struck a ditch embankment, according to a preliminary investigation.
Douglas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead by the Randolph County coroner’s office, police said.
Troopers responded to the crash about 8 a.m.
No additional information was available for release, police said.
