Repairs on Illinois 13 in Belleville will close some ramp lanes until April, IDOT says
An overweight load damaged a bridge girder on Illinois 13 near Belleville and will cause lane and ramp closures into April.
A ramp on westbound Illinois 13 just west of 74th Street in Belleville will close until April 16 as crews begin road work, according to the Illinois Department of transportation.
Work began Monday. IDOT stated in a news release that drivers that need to travel westbound at the location will be directed by detour signage to use 74th Street and Illinois 15 to bypass the closure.
The ramp carrying traffic to eastbound Illinois 13 will remain open, but will be reduced from two lanes to a single traffic lane, the release stated.
