Heavy rain just keeps on coming
The weather pattern that is causing a massive amount of rain to fall on the metro-east will continue Wednesday.
Occasional showers and thunderstorms are expected during the day, with the best chance coming before 3 p.m.
Some storm cells could produce heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature will be 82.
The St. Louis metropolitan area could get a short break from the rain in the late afternoon before heavy rains return late in the day.
The chance of storms is pegged at 70 percent overnight when the low will be 70.

There is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms all day and night Thursday, when the high will be 82 and the low will be 69.
On Friday storms are likely during the daytime hours with an 80 percent chance of wet weather. The high temperature will be 80.
The chance of rain will decrease to 60 percent in the evening, when the low will be 70.
