Authorities identify Waterloo man killed in motorcycle crash
A Waterloo man traveling on a motorcycle was killed Monday evening near Valmeyer, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert Hyatt, 58, crashed about 7 p.m. on Illinois 156 near D Road, according to police reports.
Two motorcycles being ridden in close proximity collided, sending one rider into a ravine and the other to the pavement, police said.
Hyatt and Craig Crosson, of Waterloo, who was on the other motorcycle, both were flown to area hospitals, police said.
Hyatt later died.
State police are handling the investigation.
