IDOT announces lane closures on US 40 over Interstate 55/70 in Madison County

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced daily closures of the eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 40 over Interstate 55/70 in Troy.

The southbound interstate exit ramp to eastbound U.S. 40 will be closed to all traffic. Westbound U.S. 40 will be diverted to northbound I-55/70 during the daily closures.

Crews will begin making repairs to the pavement between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Work is expected to be completed by 6 p.m. on Nov. 18.

Full access will be restored nightly..

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.

IDOT urges drivers to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices, and stay alert for workers and equipment.
