The Illinois River bridge linking Calhoun and Green counties will be closed temporarily for repairs, starting Tuesday morning.

Joe Page Bridge in Hardin will be closed from 8 a.m. Tuesday through noon Wednesday so workers can ``perform critical deck repairs,”, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

“ Full access will be restored as soon as possible. The Department will have an additional ferry available at the Kampsville Ferry to be placed into service as needed during peak periods while the bridge is closed,” the release states.

The bridge carries Illinois 100 and Illinois 16 over the river. Travelers should expect delays and use alternative routes to avoid the work area, according to the release.
