Hunters killed 50,300 deer the first weekend of IL firearm season. Here’s a list by county
Hunters in the metro-east killed nearly 5,000 deer during the first weekend of firearm season in Illinois, according to preliminary figures from the Department of Natural Resources.
All told, the agency stated in a news release Tuesday, about 50,300 deer were taken across the state from Nov. 19-Nov. 21.
That’s an increase of more than 3,000 from the first weekend of firearm deer hunting in 2020, when hunters killed 47,147 deer, according to the release.
