Woman killed, four others injured in collision on Illinois 15 near Belleville
A 38-year-old Belleville woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Illinois 15 near the city limits on Friday, authorities said.
Catherine N. Goble of Lois Court was pronounced dead at the scene, said St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Two children and two adults in the other vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. just west of 11th Street near the city limits of Belleville.
Goble was driving a pickup truck that was traveling east on Illinois 15, according to a release from the Illinois State Police. For an unknown reason, the truck crossed the center median and struck an SUV, which was traveling west, the state police said.
Goble was ejected from her vehicle, state police said.
The Illinois State Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
