IL transportation officials say this interstate lane closure could delay your travel

Traffic on westbound Interstate 270 over the Mississippi River is scheduled to be reduced to one lane on Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The right lane will be closed, weather permitting, the agency said in a press release.

``These lane closures are necessary to allow IDOT crews to complete inspections scheduled for this structure,” the release states.

The agency said motorists can expect delays through the area and should try to find alternate routes.
