Millstadt school bus involved in two-vehicle crash
A school bus carrying five children between the ages of 6 and 12 was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Millstadt Monday morning.
None of the children were injured, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at Town Hall Road and Illinois 163 at about 7:44 a.m.
A Millstadt school bus driven by a 48-year-old male was attempting to turn left onto Illnois 163 from Town Hall Road. Julie Eggers, 50, of Columbia was traveling north on Route 163 and hit the back of the bus, according to a sheriff’s department release.
Millstadt EMS and fire were also dispatched to the scene, but were not needed.
Eggers was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Her car was towed from the scene by Curtis Towing. The school bus was driven away from the scene and the children were transferred to another bus.
