St. Clair County coroner identifies man who was killed in Interstate 255 crash
A man was killed in a single-car accident along Interstate 255 near Interstate 64 in St. Clair County on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Kevin L. Clark, 30, of the 300 block of Golden Street, Cahokia Heights, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. He was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m. Thursday, Dye said.
The accident happened near Mile Post 20.
Clark was driving north near Interstate 64, in St. Clair County, according to the Illinois State Police. His car left the roadway and struck the end of a concrete barrier. The car burst in flames, the release stated.
The accident closed the right lane I-255 south for about two hours before it was reopened at 12:48 a.m.
