Person injured after being hit by car outside Fairview Heights restaurant
A person was taken to a St. Louis-area hospital in critical condition Thursday after being hit by a car outside a Fairview Heights restaurant.
According to Fairview Heights Police, officers responded to a call that a person had been struck in the parking lot of T.G.I Friday’s at about 1:36 p.m. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene while the victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The car was later spotted headed eastbound toward O’Fallon on Salem Place. It’s driver then called police to provide officers his location. He currently is being held at the Fairview Heights Police Department as the investigation continues.
The identities of the driver nor the victim have been released.
