Authorities identify man found dead at Carlyle Lake
The Clinton County Coroner has identified the man whose body was found Wednesday at Carlyle Lake.
The body of 59-year-old Michael Ziemba, of Boulder, Ill., was found along the shore at the lake. He was found after the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office received a call just before midnight Tuesday about a missing man who had not returned home from a fishing trip that day.
Search crews found the man’s body in the area of Louse Creek Road. According to Clinton County Sheriff Doug Maue, it’s unclear what happened to the man, but Maue said it’s possible the fisherman suffered some type of medical problem.
“What actually happened, we don’t know,” Maue said.
Agencies involved in the search included the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and St. Clair County Emergency Services.
