Southern Illinois woman seriously injured from single vehicle crash, police say
State police respond to a single car crash with serious injuries Sunday night in Marion County.
At approximately 10:11 p.m., Jade Hamilton, 21, of Centralia was traveling eastbound on Green Street and Norton Road, in rural Centralia when the vehicle she was driving hydroplaned on the wet roadway, according to Illinois State Police.
Hamilton lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road to the left and struck a ditch causing the car to overturn several times, ISP said in a release.
Hamilton was transported by ambulance to area hospital and later transferred to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the police Hamilton was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
