Work on Interstate 55/70 bridge in the Collinsville area could cause travel delays
Two westbound right lanes on Interstate 55/70 near Black Lane in Collinsville will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday for road improvements, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The lane restrictions will be around Mile Marker 9, the agency stated.
“These restrictions are needed to install shielding on the Black Lane bridge over I-55/70,” a news release states. “IDOT District 8 Operations forces will make the needed improvements. Full access will be restored as soon as possible.”
Motorists can expect delays and should look for alternate routes.
