O’Fallon Venita overpass open

The Venita Drive Railroad Overpass opened to traffic on Thursday, O’Fallon city officials said.

The project was carried out to build an overpass over the CSX Railroad tracks.

“This overpass has been a long time coming, and it is finally complete,” said Mayor Gary Graham. “I thank all of the residents and businesses that have been affected by the inconvenience of this project, without your understanding this could not have been possible.”

All that remains to be completed is clean-up work and landscaping, said City Administrator Walter Denton.
