Madison County coroner asking public’s help in identifying body found near woods

Madison County Coroner Stephen Nonn and Pontoon Beach Police Chief Chris Modrusic have reached out to the public for help in identifying a body discovered near a wooded area on June 2.

Shane Lily, spokesman for the coroner’s office described the man as being of “mixed ancestry ... not to exclude Hispanic descent.” He is between 5-feet, 2-inches tall and 5-8 and is between 30 and 50 years old.

He has only five teeth remaining and is missing his entire upper row, Lily said.

The man was found wearing a black Michael Jordan XL jacket, a black XL Russel brand tee shirt, and a white long sleeved thermal shirt.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to call Modrusic’s office at 618 931-5100 or the coroner’s office at 618-692-7478.
