Expect traffic delays on Interstate 270 in Madison County this week. What to know

The right lane of westbound Interstate 270 over the Mississippi River will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 pm. Tuesday through Thursday for bridge repair work.

Entrance and exit ramps will be open during the project, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Motorists can expect delays, a news release states. In a tweet, the agency suggests motorists use Clark Bridge in Alton or McKinley Bridge in Venice as an alternative.
