Man hit by car and killed after running into traffic on I-64 near East St. Louis

Illinois State Police are investigating the death of a man who was hit by a car on Interstate-64 near East St. Louis Friday morning.
District 11 Trooper Josh Korando said the unidentified male pedestrian was running in the lanes of traffic and was struck by a motorist, which remained on scene, at about 1:59 a.m. The incident occurred on eastbound I-64 at milepost 3.
The man was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, Korando said.
An investigation into the fatality is ongoing.
