Lanes on Interstate 255 through Collinsville will be restricted through Thursday, July 28, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

IDOT District 8 operations crews will be doing emergency patching on the bridge carrying I-255 northbound over Horseshoe Lake Road.

Drivers can expect daily restrictions of the right two lanes and the northbound deceleration lane between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

The far-right lane and deceleration lane to Horseshoe Lake Road will be closed nightly while the exit ramp will remain open.

Construction should be completed by 4 p.m. on Thursday, IDOT said.

IDOT encourages drivers to use an alternate route when feasible. Those driving on the highway should be aware of workers, changes in signs and conditions, follow posted speed limits and refrain from using mobile devices, according to a release.
