Glen Carbon issues boil order for some residents due to water main break

The village of Glen Carbon issued a boil order Wednesday for some residents due to a water main break.

The Glen Carbon situation is unrelated to the large water main break in Collinsville that also caused a boil order on Wednesday.

Glen Carbon residents are affected by the boil order if they live on Collinsville Street from Austin to Main Street or 9 to 96 Sunset Avenue.

The village instructed them to boil water they plan to use for cooking or drinking for at least five minutes before use and to throw away ice cubes made during the order.
