McClatchy, BND veteran receives digital media company’s top advertising sales award

Sharon Peterson has won The Chairman’s Circle Award that recognizes the highest performing advertising sales professionals at McClatchy, a national digital media company.

Peterson is a recruitment account executive for McClatchy, which owns the Belleville News-Democrat and other news organizations across the country.

Peterson, a military veteran who lives in Mascoutah with her family, has built a reputation as a high-performing advertising professional during her 25-plus years with the company, starting at the BND in 1997 and focusing on recruitment advertising for much of her career.

As a recruitment account executive serving McClatchy markets across the country, Peterson has consistently excelled, including attracting new clients, growing ad revenue and exceeding her 2021 annual digital sales goal by 160.3%.

She was one of 15 McClatchy advertising sales professionals who received The Chairman’s Circle Award for 2022.
