Lane closures on bridge to downtown St. Louis begin next week

Lane closures on the Martin Luther King Bridge between Illinois and downtown St. Louis will begin next week for routine inspections, IDOT announced.
Lane closures on the Martin Luther King Bridge between Illinois and downtown St. Louis will begin next week for routine inspections, IDOT announced.

Commuters who use the MLK Bridge will encounter lane closures in both directions beginning Monday.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday the following closures to accommodate routine inspections:

Sept. 19-20: From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., the westbound lanes will be closed.

Sept. 21-22: From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., the eastbound lanes will be closed.

Sept. 26-29: From 8 a.m. until 3 p.jm., the eastbond lanes will be closed.

Motorists should allow for extra time, even if the closures do no affect their lanes. IDOT urges commuters to use alternate routes.
