IDOT plans ramp closures along I-255

The Illinois Department of Transportation has planned nighttime lane closures on the I-255 northbound ramp onto eastbound Illinois 15 and the I-255 northbound ramp onto eastbound I-64.

Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled to begin on Tuesday. The ramps are scheduled to close at 6 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. the following morning.

The ramp closures are necessary to construct a new high-friction pavement, IDOT said. The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday morning.

A marked detour is set to be in place to guide traffic around the closures.
