Identity of woman killed in I-64 crash near East St. Louis is released

One person is dead following a crash on Interstate 64 near East St. Louis early Tuesday morning.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. confirmed MaKenze Coulter, 23, of Table Grove, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:55 a.m.

KSDK and KMOV TV reported that the crash occurred on westbound I-64 at southbound I-55, causing traffic to be diverted to the I-70 split until at least 8 a.m.

Illinois State Police, however, have not confirmed the cause of the crash or provided information about others possibly involved.
