Authorities seek public’s help locating truck that killed a woman on I-55 near Collinsville

A woman died after a semitractor-trailer struck her as she was getting into her disabled vehicle along the side of Interstate 55 on Saturday night, according to the Illinois State Police.

The tractor-trailer drove off without stopping, state police said.

The woman, whose identity was not released, later died at a hospital.

The tractor-trailer was last scene heading south on the interstate, according to state police.

State police are asking ISP asking anyone with information to call 618-571-4124 or Crimestoppers at 314-725-8477 (TIPS). Witnesses can remain anonymous, state police said.
