Fire heavily damages home in The Knolls subdivision in Swansea. Here’s what we know

No one was injured in a fire that caused significant damage to a home in The Knolls subdivision on Sunday, the Swansea Fire Department reported.

Flames were through the roof when Fire Chief Chris Tell arrived at the home at 4092 Redcastle Place, according to Bryan Whitaker, spokesman for the Swansea Fire Department.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire. The department received the call for help at 2:18 p.m, Whitaker said.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

The East Side Fire Department assisted Swansea on the scene and the Northwest Fire Department provided district coverage while Swansea firefighters were on the scene.
