You can get help applying for federal aid for July flooding damage. Here’s where to go
Two Disaster Recovery Centers and a Business Assistance Center will open this week in the metro-east to help homeowners and business owners apply for financial assistance after severe flooding in July.
Federal assistance became available because of a federal disaster declaration earlier this month. St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern provided information about the centers during the county board meeting Monday night.
Disaster Recovery Centers to help homeowners will open Friday at the following locations:
- Clyde Jordan Center, 6755 State St. in East St Louis
- Caseyville Village Hall, 909 S. Main St. in Caseyville
The centers will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sundays.
The Small Business Administration will also be opening a Business Assistance Center starting Friday at the Caseyville Fire Department for any business owners who need help applying for aid related to flooding damage. It will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 321 S. Main St. in Caseyville.
Kern said the deadline to apply for federal assistance is 11:59 p.m. Dec. 16.
