Addition at SIHF health center will provide only urgent care in East St. Louis

SIHF Healthcare and Touchette Regional Hospital are adding a 5,000-square-foot urgent care addition to the SIHF Healthcare center at 2001 State St.

It will be the only urgent care center in East St. Louis.

“We are extremely pleased to be launching this much needed service for the residents of the greater East St. Louis metro area,” stated Larry McCulley, CEO of both SIHF Healthcare and Touchette Regional Hospital.

The $2.8 million investment, partially funded by the State of Illinois, will include four exam rooms, one procedure room, a lab and radiology services.

The urgent care is part of a project called “LifeBridge,” McCulley said. The campaign is part of a transformation project with SIHF Healthcare, Touchette Regional Hospital, and their partners to connect health and social conditions together, bringing a path to health for residents of the the greater East St. Louis area.

In addition to the construction of the urgent care, McCulley said the project also will fund community health workers, affordable and supportive housing, electronic health records system at Touchette, and improved access to specialty care.

“Efforts in each of these areas are well underway with intentions to make additional announcements in 2023,” McCulley said. “But the benefits to the public are beginning and will continue to grow.”
