Shaw and Johnson were on a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle headed west on North Belt West when they collided with a 2001 Ford Escort that was backing out of Church’s Chicken parking lot near North Belt West and 46th Street.

The Escort’s driver has not been identified pending the outcome of the accident reconstruction, said Belleville Sgt. Mark Heffernan. Shaw and Johnson were ejected from the motorcycle after the collision and sustained fatal head and chest injuries, Stone said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Escort has been cooperative with the investigation, Heffernan said.

No citations, charges or arrests have been made.
