Belleville Christkindlmarkt will close after Wednesday due to predicted severe weather

The last day of this year’s Belleville Christkindlmarkt is Wednesday due to the extreme weather predicted for Thursday and Friday.

The market on Public Square will be open until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to an announcement on its Facebook page. It had been scheduled to end Friday, but the predicted storm and dangerous temperatures changed those plans.

“The safety of all vendors, volunteers, and visitors is our main concern,” the announcement stated.
