Fairview Heights homecoming canceled due to lack of volunteers

The Fairview Heights Homecoming Association Committee has decided to cancel this year’s homecoming.

The annual event was planned for Aug. 7-8 and had been held at Moody Park in Fairview Heights in recent years. According to the association, the decision to cancel was made because there are not enough volunteers to help support the two-day event.

The St. Clair County Fair Association also announced recently that the annual county fair will not be held this year as a result of the state’s financial woes. However, a carnival will still be held Aug. 12-16 at the fairgrounds in Belleville.
