One dead, another injured in double-rollover crash on U.S. 50 near O’Fallon

One person died in a double-rollover crash Thursday morning on U.S. 50 near Rieder Road in St. Clair County between O’Fallon and Lebanon, Illinois State Police said in a new release.
The victim’s name has not been released.
The person who died was in an eastbound vehicle that drifted into the westbound lane at 6:39 a.m. for “an unknown reason.” The vehicle was sideswiped by a westbound vehicle, according to a preliminary investigation by the Illinois State Police.
Both of the vehicles left the roadway and overturned.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead and the driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other information was released by the police.
