Belleville woman charged with felony after striking couple with her car
A Belleville woman faces three felonies after police said she hit three people with her car, including her ex-boyfriend.
St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly charged Larice R. Tallie, 20, with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on Monday.
Belleville police were called to the 3500 block of West A Street Saturday at 1:35 a.m. for a hit-and-run accident, according to Detective Sgt. Mark Heffernan.
Officers who arrived at the scene determined the suspect and at least one of the victims knew each other, Heffernan said.
“It appeared that they had a previous relationship,” he said.
The victims reported that the suspect arrived and a disturbance ensued.
“It was determined that (Tallie) intentionally struck the three individuals with her car,” Heffernan said.
Patrol officers found the 2013 black Nissan in the 1800 block of West Main and took Tallie into custody.
The three victims sustained non-life threatening, but were “fairly substantially injured,” Heffernan said.
Tallie’s bail was set at $75,000.
