16-year-old killed, two others injured in East St. Louis shooting, authorities said
A 16-year-old was shot to death and two other people were injured Sunday at a church in East St. Louis, authorities said.
Devin J. Montgomery, who lived in the 2600 block of Drexel Drive in Cahokia Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:40 p.m., according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
The identity of the injured people and their conditions were not released.
Illinois State Police are investigating the shooting at Pilgrim Green Missionary Church on Caseyville Avenue. Authorities are releasing few details, including whether the shooting happened inside or outside the church.
