Separate fires leave six in East St. Louis homeless
Six East St. Louis residents are without homes because of a pair of unrelated fires.
One blaze happened Monday morning in the 600 block of North 55th Street. The other happened in the 8400 block of Carol Street.
According to the American Red Cross, two adults and two children lost their home because of the first fire. An adult and a child were forced out of their home because of the second blaze.
The Red Cross is providing temporary shelter, food and clothing to the affected families.
Information about how the fires started was not immediately available.
