The body of a man was found near railroad tracks in Fairview Heights. Autopsy is scheduled

The body of a man was found Tuesday morning near railroad tracks that pass beneath Ludwig Drive and North Illinois Street in Fairview Heights.

Tamarion McNair, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:34 a.m., according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. McNair’s last known address was the 1300 block of North 37th Street in East St. Louis.

Fairview Heights Police Department said in a statement ``there’s no indication of a crime.” An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Police received a report about the body and a possible need for assistance at 10:10 a.m.

“When officers approached the subject, they discovered the subject was deceased and appeared to have been deceased for an extended period of time,” according to the police statement.

Illinois State Police were called to process the scene.
