While at the new Bricks & Minifigs store in Glen Carbon, I asked each member of the team what their first Lego sets were. Here’s what they said:

Kolton Alcorn, team member

Alcorn said his gateway Lego was the Star Wars Clone Walker.

Losche Padgett, team member

Padget had Jabba’s Sail Barge from the Star Wars series.

Ryan Wilkinson, team member

Wilkinson said his first Lego experience was with the Lego Star Wars video game (really fun, by the way). His first set was Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter.

He added that his dog ate Darth Vader. (A worse fate = eaten by the sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon on Tatooine)

Keaton Smith, team member

Smith’s first Lego was a Star Wars set he got for Easter one year.

On a side note, Smith said that Glen Carbon needed two things: Chick-fil-A (which recently opened) and Bricks & Minifigs.

Madrigal Vorce Brown, owner

Brown didn’t want to be cliché and say Star Wars, so she spoke of classic boxes, including a set from the 1993 Castle series. She noted that there were no girl minifigs in these sets, so she’d take them from City series sets to play with the Castle sets.

Her favorite theme, or series, is Ideas. These come from regular people who submit their ideas to Lego and are voted on by other fans.

Brown’s second favorite series is Harry Potter with Star Wars in third. She appreciates the versatility from the smaller to larger sets.

She also thinks the city skyline sets from the Architecture series are nice.

Upon hearing all of the Star Wars responses, I realized that I have found my people.
