Metro-east will be under a heat advisory this weekend
After a break from high temperatures in the middle of the week, the metro-east is going to heat back up Friday.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory effective through Sunday evening.
The high temperature Friday will reach 94 with a heat index as high as 106 for the metro-east. Skies will be mostly sunny, but there is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms popping up throughout the day.
The temperature will drop to a low of 76 Friday night under partly cloudy skies.
On Saturday, the high temperature will soar to 96 degrees with a heat index of 105. Skies will be mostly sunny.
It will be partly cloudy with a low of 76 Saturday night.
There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms predicted for Sunday when the high will be 94.
The chance of storms will increase to 50 percent Sunday night with a slight chance storms could be severe. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy with a low of 73.
