Schnucks warns consumers about possible plastic in ground beef at Granite City store

Schnucks Markets, Inc. has issued a recall on 12 pounds of 80/20 fresh ground beef from the Granite City location because they may contain pieces of plastic.

According to a release issued by Schnucks, the affected product was sold between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the store located at 3100 Madison Ave.

Customers who purchased the above product with a sell-by date of May 1, 2023, should return the product to the store for a full refund or exchange, the release noted.

As of Monday morning, there had been no reported illnesses or injuries, and this is an isolated incident that does not impact any other stores, according to Schnucks.
