Two people found shot to death at East St. Louis home, according to authorities

Two people were found shot to death at a home in East St. Louis, authorities said Friday.

Jamie J. Dillard, 36, of East St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:10 a.m., St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said. Marvin L. Custer, 32, of Belleville, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:15 a.m., Dye said.

East St. Louis Police Chief Kendall Perry confirmed that officers from his department and the Illinois State Police are investigating the deaths at a home in the 1300 block of North 35th Street. He did not have further details at this time.

Initial reports were that the men were found after a fire at the house, but those are unconfirmed.
