Metro-east man pronounced dead at hospital following traffic crash

A Granite City man died at an area hospital due to injuries he suffered in a traffic crash.

Frank Fisher, 41, was transported to the hospital from the scene of the crash near the intersection of Nameoki Road and Lindell Boulevard in Granite City, according to a release from police. Officers responded at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday.

Granite City Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and isn’t releasing additional details. Police are being assisted by the Metro-East Crash Assistance Team and the Madison County Coroner’s Office.

“We at GCPD would like to extend our most sincere condolences to the family of the individual who lost their life,” the release stated.

A spokesperson with the Granite City PD said Wednesday morning they had no additional comment at this time.
