Identification of man found dead at an I-64 rest area in St. Clair County is released
Authorities have identified the person who was found dead last week at an I-64 rest area in St. Clair County.
He is Thomas Townsend , 64, of the 200 block of Polk County Road, in Mena, Arkansas, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Dye said the cause of death appears to be natural.
Illinois State Police said in a press release last week that they are investigating the death.
The release said officers were called to the Gateway Rest Area about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Few other details were released.
