A new Dollar General opens in St. Clair County. Here’s why, plus info on job offerings

A new Dollar General store is now open in Caseyville.

Located at 8035 N. Illinois St., the new store provides area residents with “an affordable and convenient store location to purchase household essentials including food, cleaning supplies, paper products, over-the-counter medicines, hygiene products, baby items and more,” according to a press release.

The new Caseyville location also offers fresh fruits and vegetables made up of the “top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores,” stated the release.

“At Dollar General, we believe the addition of each new store provides positive economic growth for the communities we proudly serve, and the addition of our new Caseyville store highlights our commitment to deliver a pleasant shopping experience that includes great prices on quality products in a convenient location,” Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, stated in the release. “We look forward to welcoming customers to our new store and hope they will enjoy shopping at our new location.”

The Caseyville Dollar General will create new jobs in the area as the store expects to employ six to 10 people, depending on the store’s needs.
