Another big winning lottery ticket has been sold at a metro-east store.

This time it was a Crossword scratch-off ticket with a $250,000 prize sold at the MotoMart convenience store on Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Heights, according to a release from Illinois Lottery.

“It’s quite thrilling that someone won a big prize right here in Cahokia,” John Fraser, manager at the Cahokia MotoMart, told Illinois Lottery. “Our regular customers tend to think the big wins happen in Chicago, so we’re very delighted that someone in our small town won!”

He heard that his store sold the ticket when the company president reached out, “congratulating us for selling a top prize winning ticket.” the release states. “It’s such an honor to be recognized as a ‘lucky store’.”

The store will receive a $2,500 bonus, equal to 1% of the $250,000 prize, the lottery agency stated in the release.
