Cool temperatures, slight chance of thunderstorms in forecast
Another surprisingly cool day is expectedWednesday for the metro-east.
The high temperature will be 82, according to the National Weather Service. That’s nine degrees less than the average high temperature of 91 for July 22 in the St. Louis area.
Skies will be partly sunny. But there is a slight chance of a thunderstorm, about 20 percent, after 1 p.m.
The chance of thunderstorms increases to 30 percent Wednesday evening when the low temperature will be 67 overnight.
Thursday will be almost an instant replay of the day before. The high will be 83 with partly sunny skies and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.
In the evening, the low will be 67 with a 30 percent chance of rain.
Skies will be mostly sunny Friday with a high of 89. There is a 20 percent chance of storms Friday night with a low of 72.
